Well, yesterday was publication day for The Great Village Show eBook, or ‘soft launch’, as I like to call it, seeing as the actual paperback will be in all good shops on July 30th, so it feels to me a bit like when a new hotel or restaurant opens and they do a ’soft launch’ to see what people think before going full steam ahead and booking out ALL OF THE ROOMS / TABLES, or in this case, a super shiny, sparkly, red foil covered beauty of a real book! And I’m thrilled to say that the The Great Village Show’s ‘soft launch’ is a success so far, with lots of you lovelies saying how nice it is to be back in Tindledale, and how much you want to live there. Hurrah! ME TOO. Lets all run away to Tindledale today.
But seriously, I’m over the moon … thank you all so very, very much, for not only buying the eBook, but reading it in record time, FOUR hours one reader told me, which is incredible and super lovely to hear.
Now, back to publication day, and what a day it was. I took some time off from writing my next book, The Mystery of Orchard Cottage, and lounged on my chaise watching TOWIE while tweeting like a demon in between tipping these vegetable inspired biscuits into my mouth. They were a gift from my publishers and truly scrumptious they were too, I managed to save a couple for QT and Mr B, and they also loved them.
And then this arrived courtesy of Mr B, via Konditor & Cook … my favourite, the magnificent Curly Wurly cake. YUM! And if you look closely, you might spot a groove in the icing where QT just couldn’t resist temptation and promptly popped her little fingers into the box to treat herself to a taster before devouring a full on wedge, cue a sugar high ending with her crashing out almost three hours after her normal bedtime. Oops! But it’s not everyday that Mummy has a book day.
Ooh, before I go … there are competitions on my Twitter and FB page to WIN one of these cute iPhone cases.
We’ll be picking a winner on Monday, so still time to enter. GOOD LUCK.
